ABOUT 

Jason Arel-Klein is a Jewish-American photographer based in Atlanta, Georgia, whose work explores fractured identity, disillusionment, and inherited trauma. In 2026, Arel-Klein was named the recipient of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston Purchase Award and received an Honorable Mention in the Hariban Award, based in Kyoto, Japan, for his project Broken by the Names of Flowers. His photographs have been exhibited at Atlanta Photography Group, The Curated Fridge, and other national venues, and published in Lenscratch and No-Type Magazine. He was also invited to participate in Alphabet Redacted, an exhibition highlighting diversity within Atlanta's queer photography community, and received the Atlanta Center for Photography Virtual Portfolio Review Equity Scholarship. Arel-Klein has presented his work at conferences hosted by Georgia State University and the Society for Photographic Education. He is currently pursuing a BFA in Photography at Georgia State University's Ernest G. Welch School of Art & Design.
